Mortgage Rates Climb While Still Near Record Lows

Freddie Mac reported on Thursday that although American mortgage rates went up, they are still at record low levels.
"Interest rates on an average 30-year fixed rate rose to 3.37 percent this week after dropping up to 3.32 percent the week before. Interest rates are now just 0.06 above the record low of 3.31 percent."

They also reported that average rates slightly edged up this week for 15-year fixed rate mortgages to 2.65 percent; a year ago, rates had averaged 3.21 percent.
