U.S. Construction Spending Hits Highest Level Since 2008

In July, the construction spending in the United States rebounded strongly, as it hit its highest level in more than 5 ½ years.

According to the Commerce Department, construction spending increased nearly 2% to an annual rate of $981.31 billion.

This is the highest level sine December 2008.

It was also reported that part of the private residential spending reflected home improvement projects.
